Trash & Recycling

Welcome to the Town of Atkinson Municipal Waste Page. It is the goal and intent of the Town of Atkinson to provide appropriate waste disposal service to the community in an efficient and environmentally safe manner. The Town operates a Brush & Recycling Dump for this purpose. Use of the Facility is limited to Atkinson Residents only. Visit the Brush & Recycling Center page for addition information.

Curbside Collection

Atkinson works with Casella Waste Systems, a waste management company, for weekly household curbside collection.  Please check the Casella Brochure: 2024-2025 for more information.

If your trash and/or recycling was not picked up, DO NOT CALL THE TOWN HALL, call Casella at (603) 898-3680.

Collection Days

Pickup of household trash occurs every week, and recycling every other week, Tuesday through Thursday.  Trash/recycling must be placed at the curb the night prior to your collection day.  Please check the Collection Calendar for Holiday pick-up delays.

Bulk Waste Collection

Bulk Waste Collection occurs three times a year.  Residents looking to have bulk items removed can submit a bulk pick-up form along with payment to the Town Administrator's office at the Town Hall.  Please check the Bulk Waste Collection page for more information.

Brush/Recycling Center

The Atkinson Brush & Recycling Center is located at Woodlock Park Lane, off of Westside Drive, opposite tennis courts.  It is for Atkinson residents only and a permit is required.  Please visit the Brush & Recycling Center page for more information.

Raymond Transfer Station

Raymond Transfer Station excepts miscellaneous items.  Please review the Raymond Transfer Station rates to see if they take the item you are trying to dispose of.  NOTE: Atkinson residents are highly encouraged to call Raymond Transfer Station beforehand to ensure they will take your item(s).  Atkinson residents will need to show proof of residency (i.e., driver's license, utility bill, etc.) in order to access the Raymond Transfer Station.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

Each year a surrounding town holds a Household Hazardous Waste removal day, once in the Spring (always hosted by Plaistow, NH) and once in the Fall.  Please visit the Household Hazardous Waste page for upcoming dates and locations.
