Building Permit Process & Forms

The Atkinson Building Department does NOT have online permitting

 

Application Forms for Building Permits and ALL Trade Permits are available in the lobby at Town Hall, 19 Academy Ave, Atkinson, NH.  HOWEVER, you will still need to visit the Land Use office during regular business hours in order to pay for the permits.

BUILDING PERMITS

All Building Permit applications will be reviewed and issued by the Building Inspector.  The Building Inspector will determine the cost of the permit and notify the applicant when it is ready to be picked up.  The minimum Building Permit charge is $100. All Building Permits must be paid for at the time of pick up. We accept payment by cash or check.

The Building Permit card must be displayed onsite in a conspicuous location at the start of construction.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to call for all required inspections which are indicated on the back of the Building Permit card.

TRADE PERMITS - (Electrical, Plumbing, Gas) 

Applications for stand alone Trade Permits (Electrical, Plumbing, Gas) are also available in the lobby at Town Hall.  All trade permits must be signed by NH licensed trade professionals.  Trade permits will be issued during the regular office hours of the Building Department/Land Use Office.  Trade permits must be paid for at the time of pick up and applicable NH Trade license must be shown. We accept payment by cash or check.

It is the responsibility of the Trade professional to call the applicable Trade Inspector directly to schedule inspections.

If you are unable to come to Town Hall to pick up an application or permit please contact either the Building Inspector or Land Use Administrator to explain the situation and make special arrangements.
