The Older Americans Act nutrition programs purpose is to reduce hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition in older adults as well as provide opportunities to socialize, and promote health and well-being. For additional resources, click here.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides nutrition benefits to eligible low-income individuals and families so they can purchase healthy food and move towards self-sufficiency.  For more information, call (603) 271-6941.

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a meal sponsorship available to Family Child Care Homes, Child Care Centers, Adult Care Centers, Homeless Shelters and At-Risk Programs to receive reimbursement for meals that are served to children and adults in their care. Southern New Hampshire Services is a sponsor of the program for the State of New Hampshire and provides additional benefits to participants. The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federal program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans, including the elderly, by providing emergency food assistance at no cost. TEFAP provides bulk commodities of nutritious food to food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens and non-profit charitable organizations as well as local Community Action Agencies.  To apply, contact (603) 668-8010 ext. 6048 or email Tefap@snhs.org.

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) provides nutritious food resources to supplement nutritional needs to income eligible adults over 60 in Hillsborough and Rockingham Counties. To apply, contact Greater Manchester Communities: (800) 256-9880 or Greater Nashua Communities: (877) 211-0723.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) ensures that at-risk children and teens have access to healthy meals and snacks during the summer months when school is not in session.  To apply, contact (603) 668-8010.

The Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC) provides access to nutrition education, support and nutritious foods to help keep pregnant women, new mothers, infants and preschool children healthy and strong.  For more information, call 1-800-942-4321.
