Chief's Message

The mission of the Atkinson Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in the Town of Atkinson by developing strong partnerships with the community.  The Atkinson Police Department recognizes, respects and understands the diversity of our citizens.  By identifying and solving problems together, we will better understand the concerns of our community.  Our pledge is to provide the highest level of police services in our neighborhoods.  Our Vision is to ensure our town is one in which law-abiding citizens can feel safe to go about their business, because the police department has a visible, effective and friendly police presence in all neighborhoods, maintains order in public spaces, and enhances the quality of life for citizens, businesses and visitors.

The six core values of the Atkinson Police Department are Integrity, Quality, Fairness, Diversity, Partnerships, and Compassion.

We will maintain integrity by demonstrating ethical standards and honesty in our responses.  We will ensure quality by providing the highest level of services to our citizens.  We will demonstrate fairness by making our decisions based on common sense, legal and moral grounds.  We will respect diversity by appreciating the differences and unique abilities, knowledge, and backgrounds which bring strength to our community.  We will develop and maintain partnerships with the community by achieving progress through teamwork.  We will practice compassion by helping and supporting those in need.
