Please join the Atkinson Police Station Steering Committee this week to get an early look at the plans for our Town’s proposed new Police Station. The dates are Wednesday, May 24th, and Thursday, May 25th, from 5 to 7 PM, and Saturday, May 27th from 9 AM until noon. The location will be at the Atkinson Town Hall, 19 Academy Avenue, then possibly onto the current Police Station at 27 Academy Avenue for tours contingent upon official police operations. Meet with committee members, see the architectural drafts and designs of the new station, and even tour the current (built in 1842) station with Chief Crowley. This is the first step in a possible warrant article for next year’s town meeting and March elections. The purpose of this new Police Station is to help law enforcement professionals do their job safely and efficiently and keep our wonderful town safe with a functional and compliant 21st century police station, one that will serve our community for the next 30+ years.
