Vendor Interview for Geothermal Well Drilling
Jeffery Quinn from Skillings & Sons addressed the Board relative to their proposal to drill a geothermal well. Mr. Quinn and Board members toured the mechanical room and site while Mr. Quinn provided a description of the proposed work. Fruitful discussion and exchange ensued. It was explained that there were three components of costs and two of those components were known. The first known component was the drilling and pump installation costs, which were $28,120. The second known component of cost was the 5,000-gallon weir (tank), which was $2,500. The last component of cost was the use of a Vac Truck to remove the spoils associated with drilling and that cost could be estimated, but was not currently known. The TA had estimated 20,000 gallons would need to be removed via the Vac Truck at a cost of .20 per gallon. The estimated cost was $4,000. The total estimated cost was $34,620.
After much discussion Mr. Sullivan made the motion to approve the Skillings and Sons bid in the amount of $34,620. Mr. Childs seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous and so moved.
There being no further business to come before the Board Mr. Childs made the motion adjourn the meeting. Mr. Sullivan seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous and so moved. The meeting adjourned at approximately 10:20am.
Respectfully,
Russell McAllister
Town Administrator
