Minutes
Mr. Sullivan made the motion to approve the minutes of the February 26th meeting. Mr. Sapia seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous and so moved. Police Department
Chief Consentino briefed the Board on department activities. He was noted that one of the Cruiser’s sustained damage after hitting a deer. It was the second time in several months and to prevent future damage push bumper were being installed on the cruisers at an estimated cost of $1,000. Mr. Consentino also asked about temporary lighting for the Community Center for the March 13th elections. He also asked about removing the trailer to make room for parking, too. Mr. Childs noted that he had contacted Audley construction and they had agreed to remove the trailer and Mr. Childs agreed to look into temporary lighting. Chief Consentino also read from a prepared statement in response to a posting on a blog concerning Elderly Affairs.
Mr. Childs read a thank you note from the Edmunton family complimenting the Fire Department and Ted Stewart for their response to their recent house fire.
Mr. Childs read a note complimenting the TA’s handling of an assessment issue for a resident.
Town Administrator’s Report
AMR Contract
The TA reported that new contract language from AMR that did not include the indemnification clause. The Board discussed the issue noting their willingness to sign the new agreement. Mr. Sullivan explained that a meeting with several towns with the same agreement and AMR was scheduled in Danville on March 7th at 7:00pm in the Town Office. Mr. Sullivan hoped to have the new AMR agreement to bring to Wednesday’s scheduled meeting. The TA agreed to contact AMR with the request.
The TA next reported that the total number of abatements were 159 which represented about 5.4% of the total parcels in Atkinson. It was noted that abatements averaged 10% of total parcel count after a town wide revaluation.
It was noted that the Town Report was mailed out that morning. Mr. Childs noted that the Madri Gras luncheon was scheduled at the Community Center on March 9th, from noon to 2:00pm.
There being no further business to come before the Board Mr. Sapia made the motion adjourn the meeting. Mr. Sullivan seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous and so moved. The meeting adjourned at approximately 8:03pm.
