Present: Fred Childs, Chair, Jack Sapia and Paul Sullivan. Town Administrator Russell McAllister was absent.
7:30 pm – Public Hearing – Library Bond
The Chair opened the public hearing noting that the very inclement weather had decreased the anticipated attendance. The Chair noted the hearing was to hear public comment about the bond issue for the construction of a new library. It was noted that the bond issue was for $1,734,000, but the total cost was $2,724,000 (gross budget) for the construction and original equipping of a new Library building, associated site work, demolition of the existing library building, and associated repairs to the Kimball House. The warrant article would authorize the issuance of not more than $1,734,000 of bonds or notes in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Finance Act (RSA 33) and to further authorize the Selectmen to issue and negotiate such bonds or notes and to determine the rate of interest. Other available funding included the withdrawal of $890,000 from the Library Capital Reserve Fund created for the purpose and the remaining amount of $100,000 would come from the Trustees Library Building Fund. The Chair solicited public comment. Hearing none Mr. Childs explained that due to the severity of the winter weather both the public hearing would close and the regular meeting would adjourn as well.
There being no further business to come before the Board Mr. Sapia made the motion to close the public hearing and adjourn the meeting. Mr. Sullivan seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous and so moved. The public hearing and meeting adjourned at approximately 7:35pm.
Respectfully,
