Present: Fred Childs, Chair, Jack Sapia, Paul Sullivan, and Town Administrator Russell McAllister.

The Board reviewed the recreation budget with Noriko Yoshida. Ms. Yoshida explained that the Recreation Department had the opportunity to purchase 220 Red Sox tickets for $9,910, which represented a rare opportunity. Ms. Yoshida noted that it would not be a problem selling the tickets for the three games as the tickets were always in high demand. The Board noted that such a purchase at this time of year was cutting it close budget wise but agreed that it was a good idea. It was noted that the tickets would be available to Atkinson residents first and that any unsold tickets would next be available to the greater public at large. Mr. Sullivan made the motion to allow for the purchase of 220 Red Sox tickets in the amount of $9,910 with the caveat that Atkinson residents receive priority in the purchasing of the tickets, with the expenditure listed in the Recreation Programs line item. Mr. Sapia seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous and so moved. The Board next discussed presenting a warrant article for a recreation revolving account that was similar to the police detail warrant article approved by the voters during the last town meeting. Ms. Yoshida agreed to research the issue. Mr. Sullivan reviewed several items discussed by the budget committee including phone costs, clothing items for the building inspectors.

Clerk Position:

The Board reviewed the position recently vacated by Ms. Woodbury. After thorough discussion the Board determined that the position should be both an administrative assistant to the Town Administrator as well as an assessing clerk. The Board reviewed the position announcement and directed the TA to get in the paper.

There being no further business to come before the Board Mr. Sullivan made the motion to adjourn. Mr. Childs seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous and so moved. The meeting adjourned at approximately 11:05am.
